An Echo in the Bone (Outlander book 7) by Diana Gabaldon 864 pages
Claire and Jamie Fraser have a plan: They’ll return to Scotland for a time to take care of some family business, and Jamie won’t be forced to fight in any of the coming skirmishes — or have to face his son William across a battlefield. But as with most Fraser family plans, this one goes awry almost immediately. Meanwhile, Brianna and Roger have returned to the 20th Century and face dangers for their family there that they never imagined.

Book Review
As plodding and tedious as books 5 and 6 in the series were, this book is back to the quick-paced adventure and fun romance we came to know and love in earlier books. And here we finally have several points of view telling us the story at last: Claire, Jamie, Brianna, Roger, Lord John, Young Ian, Lord William, and even Jem! This keeps things moving and allows us glimpses into all these characters that we haven’t seen before. This is possibly my favorite in the series to this point. As always, I issue my “if you are easily grossed out” warning. And this one ends on a total and complete cliffhanger! Luckily, none of you have to wait three years for the next book.
