Critical Recap: 10 Things I’m Desperate to Know about Critical Role’s New Campaign

Hello #critters! It’s good to be back in the swing of things here at Sisters in Geek after several weeks of the flu (Do Not Recommend), awards season and a Twin Peaks marathon. Now that I’m finally caught up on Critical Role, I’m positively ravenous to share my theories, my ships and my hopes for the Mighty Nein as they continue to explore the weird and dangerous world of Wildmount. The truth is that I want to know everything there is to know about this ragtag bunch of…let’s not call them heroes, not quite yet. But, for now I’ll settle for answers to the following ten (ish) questions.

  1. Where are all these creepy, horrible monsters coming from and why in the name of the gods are they so hungry?
  2. What, exactly, is the nature of Fjord’s patron? Will they try to take Fjord down a dark and disastrous path?
  3. Who is Shakaste really?
  4. What is Hush and how do I join this fascinating organization? Are dope bird familiars provided, or do you have to bring your own?
  5. What is Fjord’s real accent, and how do you really pronounce his name?
  6. Will Mollymauk adopt me and what do I have to do to get forehead kisses from everyone’s favorite lavender circus tiefling?
  7. Will Yasha and Beau figure out that they belong together, living a life of quiet sarcasm and ass-kicking?
  8. When will the party return to Pumat Sol?
  9. Who is The Gentleman?
  10. For the love of all that is good and holy in this world, would somebody please let Caleb into the smutty bookshop? #SmutForCaleb

I can only hope that these, and many other, questions will be answered for us soon as Campaign 2 rolls on. I have fallen well and truly in love with every single member of this bizarre little adventuring party and I can’t wait to spend more of my Thursday nights with them.

Critical Role airs Thursdays at 7pm PST on Geek and Sundry’s Twitch channel, Project Alpha and YouTube. If staying up half the night isn’t your cup of tea, check out the rebroadcasts and VODs. And please, show some love for the delightful wrap up show, Talks Machina, Tuesdays at 7pm on Twitch and Alpha. It’s our responsibility as #critters to make sure Brian W Foster stays turnt. And supplied in beard oil.
