Inversions includes two separate stories, that slightly overlap. A doctor from a distant land tries to keep the King of Haspidus healthy, and survive deadly court intrigue. A bodyguard tries to keep the Prime Protector of the Tassasen Protectorate safe against assassins. This is a story of plotting, intrigue, and how to run a kingdom, with some deep character studies mixed in. If that isn’t your thing, this book isn’t for you.

Book Review (Spoilers)
I really enjoyed this book although usually plotting and intrigue can get boring for me. The depth of the characters sold it. A little alienness too, added the extra twist it needed. I kind of wish we had gotten more conclusion on the story of DeWar and Perrund, however the epilogue says she penned one ending with her own hand, so that tells a lot right there. I really enjoyed how neither story gave you answers to everything. They both make you pay attention and work for it.
