DCC 2018 Artist Preview: Ben Byrd
Ben Byrd is attending Denver Comic Con. Ben Byrd makes nerdy character art of all our favorite fandoms. His harry potter collection gets bigger every year. He also has a dragon book for kids (or nerdy adults). He sells art in many different sizes, but his smallest size makes it easy to gather your favorite characters all in a cute wall collage!
What do most people come to your booth or signings to talk to you about?
This is our fifth year, and Denver is kind of our second con home after Salt Lake, most people come to see our new stuff. But we have a lot of friends that come to say hi and just chat and we love that too.
What new thing do you want everyone to know about? Is there SHURI ART?
I’ve kind of lost track of what’s new, I try and do new stuff for every con we do. Our Black Panther and Okoye is new and I like those (no Shuri yet, sorry). Our big new one is the Disney World print. I will be completing several more new pieces this weekend for Denver which I should announce right before the show. I actually have to get to work after this email 😉
What person, panel, or event at DCC are you most excited for?
Honestly, we are usually so busy at cons we hardly have time to leave our booth. I love walking the show floor and seeing the exhibitors before the doors open.
Â
What’s your most popular item at cons?
Our Harry Potter collection is usually the most popular, but Wall-E is our single most popular print, we usually sell out of that one.
Most hilarious con story, please!
Uh…. we laugh a lot, but usually we are just having a good time with our fans. We always have a great time at cons.Â
What can fans do to support your work beyond buying your cool stuff?
Our fans do so much for us, it’s really humbling and we are so grateful. We have the best fans, they always make us feel so welcome and we love hear about their experiences and their stories. It means so much to our family that we can do this and meet new people every time and catch up with old friends.
We are at S3 & S5, we have two tables next to each other and according to the cool 3D Jurassic Park style map, we are kind of at the end of the row, so we should be easy to find.
