Black Friday Nerd Shopping
Plenty of big online stores will try to convince you to buy your friends and family kitchen gadgets and socks. I don’t understand why the holidays are so much about giving people socks. Unless they’re those cute socks with fabulous cartoony animals or Thor on them. I’m sure your friends would love something much less practical than a lemon squeezer, though, and much more nerdy. I’ve gathered all my favorite places to shop for nerd gifts with their promised sales.
Shirts! Stuffed toys! Pins! Slippers! (And socks.) Tee Turtle shirts are about 80% of my current t-shirts. They have Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, cute animal shirts. Need a shirt of a unicorn making cupcakes for your friend who loves unicorns and baking? Done. Need a shouting Chewy to express your rage in a cute way? They’ve got it. Right now they have a pre-Black Friday Sale that has some really cute shirts at $12.50 or less. Shipping has typically been about $10 for me, but I don’t know if that’s because I always end up buying a pile of shirts.
World Builders Market has nerdy art, stickers, holiday cards, jewelry, and signed books. Fans of Patrick Rothfuss and the Kingkiller Chronicles, may remember the court rings from the series, that are available in iron, silver, and gold, just in case Kvothe owes you a big favor! World Builders will have a Sale 11/29-12/2 that is 10%-30% off. The proceeds from this store all go to Heifer International, a charity that works to end poverty and hunger by providing training and livestock for sustainable farming. So it goes to a great cause, and you can shop for fun gifts.
Karen Hallion’s art is available at the World Builders Market. She also has even more art available in her Etsy store. Her Etsy store is 25% off, and great stickers and postcard-sized art are under $4!
Ben Byrd Art on Etsy has cute water colors like this fabulous Luna. Everything is 50% off, and orders over $25 get free shipping. Marvel, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Disney, random cute knights. Surprise your friends with cuteness.
Jenny Park’s Etsy store will be 15% off everything with some deeper discounts on certain items. I cannot stress how cute her character pillows and her notebooks are. She also designed chibi pins for each of the Critical Role characters, that are adorable. They’re available in the Critical Role store.
Catawampus Press has 40% off and free shipping! Monster and creature art, and fan tribute art, for your friend who needs weird art! I may need to buy a wampus shirt, or a Choose Your Weapon poster!
Jenny Parks Illustration is 30% off today! For all your Star Wars, Marvel, and Good Omens Cat Art needs! BB8 cat is just so cute!
Remember to also check your favorite Etsy shops! A lot of them may set up sale codes this weekend.
Redbubble is a great site where artists sell their art on clothes, stickers, pillows and more. Redbubble is 25%-60% off Black Friday with code CYBERDEALS. Stickers are 50% off if you buy ten! Baby Yoda already has fun things on Etsy and Redbubble. Go search!
Finally, why not get a gift for yourself! Denver Pop Culture Con tickets are on sale now, and there are still speed passes available.
Happy shopping! I hope all your gifts are fun and joyful! Your nerd friends probably don’t need more socks or kitchen gadgets anyway.
