Welcome to Gotham Academy (Gotham Academy volume 1)
Welcome to Gotham Academy by Becky Cloonan and Brendan Fletcher, Art by Karl Kerschel 160 pages
Gotham Academy is a great place for adventure! Ghost chasing? Yes! Looting? Yes! Secret rooms for more looting? Yes! This first volume follows Olive Silverlock, who has reasons to keep to herself, but her new friend Maps refuses to let her get too serious. After all, it’s just Gotham. Soon Olive and Maps assemble an elite team of mischief makers. Batman? He’s just a guy with an annoying night light.
Book Review
I love this world and these characters. I love that they are in a creepy school with secret passages that happens to be in Gotham, where batman characters can stop by and visit the school. Batman too is just a side character. The story really is this group of students who all share a love of trouble. The characters are a good mix of serious and light-hearted. I loved it, and need more now.
