The Martian

The-Martian-Book-Taste-Review

The Martian                    by Andy Weir                      385 pages

Mark Watney is stranded on Mars. He has a temporary house, two vehicles, space junk, and some potatoes. He’ll be fine. This book is hilarious and nerve wracking. It is also probably the largest collection of funny science jokes in existence.

The words! The language use! It is funny and relatable, yet it is a science heavy book set on Mars. It is a literary marvel. The closest comparison I have is The Moon is a Harsh Mistress. I just compared Andy Weir to Heinlein, and the good stuff too! Seriously. I’ve never worried so much about where hydrogen was going to come from!
