Lumberjanes (volume one)                    Noelle Stevenson, Grace Ellis, and Brooke Allen                    128 pages

Jo, April, Mal, Molly, and Ripley are Lumberjanes at a summer camp for hardcore lady-types! There are many camp rules, and the Roanoke Cabin girls seem on track to break them all by the end of the summer. It is all for a good cause though, because they suspect something odd is happening.  They are probably right, because there are three-eyed foxes and hipster yetis all over the place. Obviously, some magical questing awaits.

These girls already have life figured out. They are all pretty weird, but they accept each other. They also have coordinated plans, that they can call out by name, and then ignore. The writers have it figured out too, because instead of the characters dealing with bullies or real life B.S., they have a magical quest to complete. This book is honest about what it is like to be young, weird, and questing. It is silly, fun, and beautiful. You should go read it right now.
